710110301/1023> From Joe: "Canvas" opens this Friday in South FL,
Phoenix and Los Angeles. Last weekend, the film opened strong in NY &
Chicago and will be held over another week. The film received some wonderful
reviews by Roger Ebert, The NY Times and Peter Travers of the Rolling Stone.
We're a small film with a small advertising budget so if you have a spare
moment, please forward the email below to your friends in South Florida and
encourage them to go this weekend.” And another great review: Festival
favorite deserves audience

And “"Joseph Greco is invited to speak at the United Nations during the
International Center for Clubhouse Development’s Breakfast Briefing. A
Clubhouse is a community intentionally organized to support individuals
living with the effects of mental illness. The International Center for
Clubhouse Development has “Special Consultative Status” with the United
Nations Economic and Social Committee - the only international mental health
organization with this status.” Joe says its all kind of surreal.
From Nathan Alexander (BFA 99) Peeka Productions in Chicago is seeking an
intern! We create custom children's DVDs, with the parents digitally
composited into super- cute cartoons. You'll be working with brand new
Panasonic HD cameras and the super-cool Reflecmedia chromakey technique.
Reflecmedia is an LED light ring that fixes to the camera lens, and a
background screen incorporating thousands of tiny glass beads. The result is
a screen that looks grey to the naked eye, but registers bright green
through the lens, for a perfectly even chroma key. You also have the
opportunity to work with Adobe AfterEffects CS3 and Final Cut Studio 2, and
we may even pay you a little bit too. I'd prefer a recent FSU
grad, as all of my interns have been, but anyone you know in Chicago, send
'em my way. Contact Nathan at 312-664-KIDS.”
From Kate Boyle (MFA 01) “I am in New Mexico again doing another western;
I am an AD on 'Appaloosa'. It stars Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Renee
Zellweger and Jeremy Irons. Ed Harris also directs. So far it's a blast!
Also, worked a few weeks back on the Kevin Costner movie, 'Swing Vote' which
was also shooting in New Mexico. It is really busy here....”
From Michael Wang (BFA 06) “Cherie Saulter (BFA 2006) joins The Carrot Cake
Crew in Singapore as Production Designer. The Carrot Cake Conversations

Public Television. I also do some creative script writing and producing for
the company as well. I’m engaged to my longtime friend from high school

we would also appreciate any monetary contributions or positive thoughts you
could send our way. Thanks!”
From Jessica Schilling (MFA 03) “In May of this year, I got married in
Tallahassee (to Matt Walden). I would've loved to have stopped by the film
school when we were there, but was obviously a little busy and I ran out of
time. We're back in LA now and married life is great. My husband Matt works
in post-production at Herzog-Cowen Entertainment, along with some film
school alums who work there now and several others in the past. I'm
currently working as the lead/only assistant editor on a feature documentary
about Vogue magazine for the company Actual Reality Productions (30 days,
Thin). So far I've loved working in the documentary world, and hope to keep
it up. This Variety article has a little more about the movie:
