Dr. Frank P. Tomasulo
Dr. Frank P. Tomasulo is Professor and Head of Film Studies at The Film School. He received his M.A. in Cinema Studies at New York University and his Ph.D. in Film and Television from UCLA. He has taught a variety of film history, theory, production, and screenwriting classes at UCLA, Ithaca College, Cornell University, the University of California, Santa Cruz, Georgia State University, and Southern Methodist University.
The author of over sixty scholarly articles and essays, and over 150 scholarly papers, "Dr. T" has recently compiled an anthology on film acting, More Than a Method: Trends and Traditions in Contemporary Screen Performance (Wayne State University Press, 2004), and is currently working on The Cinema of Michelangelo Antonioni (State University Press of New York) and a survey of Hollywood movies from the Reagan-Bush era. Dr. T has also devoted himself to film publication in another way: as Editor of the Journal of Film and Video (1991-96) and Editor of Cinema Journal (1997-2003).
Besides his academic pursuits, Dr. Tomasulo has written, produced, and directed numerous films, TV shows, videos, and theatrical productions, and his students have won many national awards for their work.
